Celebrating 30 Years!

For 30 years, Tri-County Animal Rescue has been a 100% no-kill, 501(c)(3) nonprofit shelter dedicated to saving lives and preventing the killing of more than 270,000 unwanted pets each year across Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties.

We believe every cat and dog deserves the chance at a happy, healthy life, and through community partnerships and compassionate care, each animal we rescue is treated like family until they find their forever home.

Thanks to the unwavering support of our team, volunteers, sponsors, and advocates, we’ve already saved over 100,000 animals and, together, we’re committed to saving 100,000 more.

Puppy Mills

Each year, Tri-County Animal Rescue plays a vital role in shutting down hundreds of puppy mills, rescuing dogs from inhumane conditions and giving them a chance at a better life. By working with law enforcement and advocacy groups, we help expose cruelty, end illegal breeding operations, and provide transport and immediate care to survivors. Our efforts not only save lives but also raise awareness and push for stronger animal welfare laws nationwide.

Animal Control

Tri-County Animal Rescue works closely with animal control agencies to save dogs and cats, some just moments before they’re scheduled to be euthanized. These last-minute rescues give deserving animals a second chance at life, transforming what could have been their final moments into new beginnings. By stepping in when time is running out, we not only save lives but also bring hope to animals who had none.

International Rescue

At Tri-County Animal Rescue, our mission goes beyond our own community. From saving local pets in crisis to rescuing dogs from the streets of Puerto Rico, we step in where the need is greatest. Many of these animals face hunger, neglect, or danger every day. By providing transport, safety, medical care, and loving homes, we show that compassion has no borders—and every life saved is a victory.

Why adopt from
Tri-County?

This is an incredibly special place with a staff that truly cares about animals and people. Their staff was incredibly kind and attentive to me when my beloved pet passed away after 13 wonderful years of life together. I will absolutely be adopting from this shelter and I highly recommend everybody adopt a pet. Your new best friend is waiting for you! #adoptdontshop

I’ve rescued cats in New York since I was a small child. In 2008 I rescued my first dog, Sofie Jade, from Tri-County Humane. 3 rescues later and here we are! Best rescue ever!!!

They have rescued so many poor little ones and have nursed many back to health. I adopted a little puppy that lived for 16 years. Now I have another that they rescued from Hurricane Harvey – she will be 5 next week 💕🐶
